Greenville encourages voter registration on National Voter Registration Day

The city of Greenville will host a voter registration event on September 15, 2026, as part of National Voter Registration Day. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is organized in partnership with the Greenville Fire Department, Parks & Recreation Department, and the Greenville, Mississippi, chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

Residents are encouraged to register, update their information, and prepare to participate in upcoming elections. Registration locations include the Buster Brown Community Center at 400 E. Robertshaw Street, Greenville City Hall at 340 Main Street, and fire stations 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7. The city is offering a chance to win a free gas card for those who register while supplies last.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of voting. “Voting is one of the most powerful ways we can make our voices heard and help shape the future of our community,” he said. “I encourage every eligible Greenville resident to register, stay informed, and participate. When our citizens are engaged, Greenville is stronger.”
