MDCC Student Gains Research Experience at Ole Miss
Mississippi Delta Community College student Dalton Devall participated in a five-week chemistry research program at the University of Mississippi, according to a news release from MDCC. The program was a partnership between the MDCC Honors College and the Ole Miss Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
During the program, Devall worked alongside university faculty and graduate students, gaining hands-on experience with advanced laboratory equipment. His research focused on spiro-nanographenes, a class of nanomaterials.
Devall said the experience strengthened his skills and influenced his future plans. He intends to pursue a degree in biological sciences with a concentration in neurology and aspires to conduct research on neurological disorders.
“It helped me see what is possible and what I can work toward after MDCC,” he said. The full story is available on the MDCC website.
