Two injured in shooting on Greenville’s North 9th Street
Greenville police responded to the 200 block of North 9th Street shortly after 8:50 p.m. September 11 after reports of gunfire.
Officers found evidence of a gunfight involving multiple firearms. Investigators say a white sedan with several unknown occupants drove through the area, exchanging gunfire with individuals near a residence.
Two people were shot and transported by private vehicle to Delta Health System — The Medical Center. Their conditions have not been released. Officers recovered firearms, shell casings, and other evidence at the scene. They also found two vehicles and a nearby residence had been struck by gunfire.
Additionally, authorities recovered suspected controlled substances, which were handed over to the Greenville Police Department Special Operations Division. The Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation.
