Greenville celebrates 25th reunion of its last Greenville High School class

Greenville, Miss. — Mayor Errick D. Simmons welcomed the Greenville High School Class of 2001 during their 25th reunion, dubbed “A Night in Noir.” The event honored the final graduating class under the original Greenville High School name before it transitioned to Greenville-Weston High School.

Simmons praised the class for their role in local history, saying, “Twenty-five years later, you are still standing, still striving, still growing, still becoming, and still connected. Tonight, we celebrate not only how far you have come but everything you overcame to get here.”

The mayor emphasized that the graduates’ achievements extend beyond their graduation day. “Your best days do not have to be behind you. There are still dreams to dream, mountains to climb, lives to change, purpose to fulfill, and history to make,” he said.

He concluded by congratulating the class and encouraging them to continue building their legacy. “One Class. One History. One Legacy,” Simmons added.

The reunion marked a significant milestone for the class, celebrating their place in Greenville’s history and their ongoing contributions to the community.
