Three suspects charged in Tunica County shooting, investigation ongoing
Authorities in Tunica County have arrested three men in connection with a shooting that took place on Sears Avenue in Tunica. The arrests followed the execution of warrants on Monday, October 5, after deputies collected more than 50 shell casings from the scene of the Sept. 30 incident, according to the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office.
During the warrant service, deputies recovered three firearms. The suspects, all residents of Tunica, face multiple charges, including attempted murder, shooting into a dwelling, and unlawful discharge of a firearm within a populated area.
Milton Smith, 19, Lamarion Smith, 18, and Quindarrius Gates, 18, each face five counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into a dwelling, and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm within a populated area, the sheriff’s office said.
The shooting occurred around 6:18 p.m. on Sept. 30, when deputies responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire in the Old Subdivision area of Sears Avenue. Authorities confirmed that one individual was grazed by a bullet but refused transport to a hospital. The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 662-910-0400. Tips leading to an arrest could earn up to $1,000, officials said.
The sheriff’s office noted that the investigation is ongoing and more details may be released as they become available.
