Police officers awarded for quick response in child kidnapping case
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division were recently honored for their swift response in recovering a four-year-old victim of a custodial kidnapping. Detective Chase, Lieutenant Moore, Detective Bailey, Detective Stout, Detective Nowell, and Investigative Analyst Kovatch received commendations from Captain Keene.
According to authorities, the officers played key roles in deploying investigative resources, tracking the suspect vehicle, and identifying a potential location where the child might be taken. Their efforts led to the safe recovery of the child and the arrest of the suspect in Memphis, Tennessee, within three hours of the initial call.
The child was returned without harm, and the suspect has been charged with kidnapping. Police officials described the officers’ actions as a model of effective law enforcement. For the officers, it was another day on the job, but for the child and their family, it was a life-changing rescue.
