Officers Commended for Quick Action in Domestic Violence Barricade Situation

Three officers from the Clarksdale Police Department were praised for their response to a barricaded aggravated domestic violence suspect on August 16, 2026.

The officers—Jovas Haynes, Terrance Webb, and Samuel Marshall—assisted in resolving the tense situation safely. Haynes led the effort, coordinating personnel and equipment for the operation.

When conditions inside the suspect’s apartment changed, the team devised an alternative plan to avoid a direct entry and minimize risks to a female inside. The plan was executed successfully, and the suspect surrendered without further incident, authorities said.

The department commended the officers for their sound judgment, quick thinking, and dedication to protecting the community. Their efforts helped bring the situation to a safe conclusion, officials added.

The department expressed appreciation for the officers’ professionalism and teamwork, noting that their actions exemplify the department’s commitment to public safety.
