Mississippi Wildlife Officials Engage Public at Mason Creek WMA

Staff from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks spent last week engaging with a group of children and adults at Turkey Fork Reservoir, located within Mason Creek Wildlife Management Area in De Soto National Forest.

The department’s team discussed wildlife, conservation efforts, and the significance of public lands. Participants received an up-close look at native species, including an eastern diamondback rattlesnake, cottonmouth, and pygmy rattlesnake.

The event aimed to promote awareness and appreciation of Mississippi’s natural resources and native wildlife, according to the department.
