Mississippi wildlife official marks 25 years hunting on same WMA
Caleb Hinton, the Wild Turkey Program Coordinator for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, has a full circle story to share. He first harvested a turkey in 2001 on Leaf River Wildlife Management Area.
Twenty-five years later, Hinton is still hunting on the same land. His journey from first hunts to a career in conservation underscores the lasting opportunities that Mississippi’s WMAs offer to outdoor enthusiasts.
Department officials emphasized that WMAs continue to provide lifelong experiences for hunters and nature lovers alike, fostering both recreation and conservation efforts across the state.
