Mississippi Partnership Hosts Accessible Fishing Day at Enid Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Enid Lake partnered with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks to host an accessible fishing day at the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery’s Visitor Education Center in September. The event, held annually on the first Saturday after Labor Day, offers individuals of various mobility levels an opportunity to fish for catfish and enjoy time outdoors, according to MDWFP.

MDWFP officials said the event promotes inclusive recreation and safety by providing accessible fishing options. The program at the Visitor Education Center was featured in the September/October issue of Legacy magazine, a national publication focused on outdoor recreation. The article titled “No Limits on Fishing! Access Guaranteed!” highlights efforts to make fishing accessible for all.
