Mississippi Delta Community College’s Greenville Campus Celebrates 25 Years

Mississippi Delta Community College’s Greenville Campus, also known as the Greenville Higher Education Center, celebrated 25 years of service to the community Thursday.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons praised the institution’s role in transforming Greenville and the Mississippi Delta. He said it has connected education with opportunity, workforce development, and economic growth for a quarter century.

Simmons emphasized that thousands of lives and families have been impacted by the center’s efforts. He noted the center’s importance in providing access to education, career pathways, and entrepreneurship.

As part of the celebration, the mayor reflected on the visionaries who believed in greater educational access for the Delta. He committed to continuing efforts in innovation, workforce readiness, and economic mobility over the next 25 years.

Simmons concluded by reaffirming the center’s mission: opening doors, creating pathways, and strengthening the Mississippi Delta one person at a time, emphasizing that progress is driven through people.
