Greenville Higher Education Center marks 25 years of service

The Mississippi Delta Community College Greenville Campus, also known as the Greenville Higher Education Center, celebrated 25 years of service this week. The milestone was marked by a community event attended by local officials and college leaders.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons praised the center’s leadership and its role in advancing higher education and workforce development in Greenville and the Mississippi Delta. He thanked Dr. Temika Michael Simmons, the campus director, along with other leaders, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners for their contributions to the center’s success.

In a statement, Simmons highlighted the center’s broader impact over the past 25 years. He described it as more than just an educational facility, calling it a “laboratory of learning, college access, workforce development, innovation, and economic development.”

Mississippi Delta Community College also marked its 100th anniversary, celebrating a century of educational excellence. The college and the Greenville campus expressed optimism about continuing to serve future generations and expanding opportunities in the region.

Simmons concluded by emphasizing that the center has opened doors and transformed lives for 25 years. He added, “And we are just getting started.”
