Mississippi Delta Community College students gain hands-on agriculture experience

Two students at Mississippi Delta Community College are gaining practical experience in precision agriculture this summer through paid research positions funded by a grant from the Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board.

Colby Dreher, of Cleveland, and Kendrix Burnside Jr., of Hollandale, are assisting with irrigation research at the college’s agriculture test plots. They are developing skills aimed at supporting their future careers in farming and precision agriculture, college officials said.

The program exemplifies hands-on learning at MDCC, providing students with real-world experience in agricultural research and technology, according to the college.

More details are available at MDCC’s website.
