Greenville Police respond to over 5,200 calls in September 2026
The Greenville Police Department responded to 5,287 calls for service in September, according to a department release. Officers made 148 arrests and handled 857 emergency 911 calls during the month.
The department emphasized its ongoing efforts in domestic violence, narcotics enforcement, and felony and warrant arrests. Officials said these efforts aim to address crime, protect victims, and keep the community safe.
Chief Marcus R. Turner, Sr., praised his team for their dedication. “Every day, our officers are in neighborhoods, responding to families in crisis, investigating crimes, taking dangerous offenders into custody, and working to prevent the next crime,” he said. “We recognize there is still work to do, and we will not become complacent.”
The chief also highlighted the importance of community partnership. “Public safety is a partnership, and I thank the citizens of Greenville for continuing to stand with us as we work toward a safer and stronger community,” he added.
The department acknowledged the contributions of officers, dispatchers, investigators, civilian staff, community partners, and residents in their ongoing efforts to improve public safety.
