Greenville police find stolen car, firearm and suspected drugs during hotel check
GREENVILLE, Miss. — Police recovered a stolen vehicle, a handgun and suspected methamphetamine during an investigation near a hotel, the Greenville Police Department said.
An officer on patrol about 11:20 p.m. Oct. 28 saw a 2025 Nissan Altima believed to have been involved in a police pursuit two days earlier, according to the department. Officers determined the car had been reported stolen to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
While officers were at the scene, they heard a woman yelling from a nearby hotel room and went to check on her, police said. They found Andrew Williams Jr. hiding under a bed and detained him.
Police said they found suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a handgun, burned copper wiring and cutting tools. A key fob found with Williams operated the recovered car, according to the department.
Williams was arrested and taken to the Greenville Police Department for booking. Police did not specify the charges. The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the department’s Narcotics Division.
