Greenville man arrested after domestic violence incident, stolen firearm recovered
GREENVILLE, Miss. — Greenville police responded to a report of domestic violence Thursday at 945 North Broadway. Officers found a woman with visible injuries to her neck, arms, and back. She told officers her boyfriend, Kentranc Hicks, had assaulted her during an altercation.
Officers located Hicks inside an apartment at the same address. During the investigation, they found a Taurus 9mm handgun concealed in his waistband. A serial number check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen. Authorities also learned Hicks is a convicted felon.
Hicks was arrested and charged with domestic violence — simple assault. The firearm and information about Hicks’s criminal history were documented as part of the case. He is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility on a $15,000 bond.
The Greenville Police Department emphasized its commitment to protecting domestic violence victims, removing illegal firearms from the community, and holding offenders accountable. All individuals accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, police said.
