Greenville hosts Vaccine Day, administers over 60 shots
Greenville held a Vaccine Day at Delta Terrace, where health officials administered more than 60 COVID-19 shots, according to the city’s government.
The event was organized by the Mayor’s Health Council with support from Walgreens, the Mississippi State Department of Health, and community partners. Mayor Errick D. Simmons received his vaccination publicly, emphasizing the importance of community health.
In a statement, Mayor Simmons said, “A wise community is a well-informed community, and a healthy community is a stronger community. Today, Greenville showed that we are serious about protecting ourselves, our families, and one another.” The event aimed to promote awareness and encourage residents to prioritize their health.
City officials highlighted that more than 60 steps toward a healthier Greenville were taken during the event. The city encourages residents to continue staying informed, protected, and committed to community health.
