Greenville hosts Sea of Blue memorial ride honoring fallen officers
Greenville is holding a Sea of Blue Memorial Ride to honor the lives and sacrifices of Investigator Myiesha Stewart and Officer Trey Lewis, according to a statement from Mayor Errick D. Simmons.
The event takes place Friday, October 9, at 7 p.m. at the Washington County Convention Center. The procession will travel north on Raceway Road, west on Highway 82, north on Main Street, and conclude at the levee front.
Simmons encouraged the community to participate by lining the route, waving flags, and turning on blue lights to show support for the families of the fallen officers. The mayor emphasized that Greenville remembers, cares, and stands together in honoring these officers’ legacies.
The memorial ride aims to honor the officers’ service and encourage community unity. Simmons asked residents, families, businesses, churches, and organizations to come out and support the event, helping to create a sea of blue across the city.
Mayor Simmons concluded by urging the community to honor the fallen, support their families, and never forget their sacrifices.
