Greenville hosts fire safety awareness event
Greenville officials and community partners held a fire safety awareness event at the Buster Brown Center, offering safety education and opportunities to sign up for free smoke detectors.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons attended the event. Former Greenville Fire Chief Ruben Brown Sr. served as guest speaker, according to a post from the city of Greenville.
The event also included a drawing for a carbon monoxide detector. The Mayor’s Health Council and the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department and Park Commission helped organize it, the city said.
