Greenville continues Black History Month facts series
The City of Greenville is celebrating Black History Month by sharing a series of facts that highlight influential leaders, trailblazers, and moments shaping history. The series aims to honor the enduring legacy of Black excellence, resilience, and achievement.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of Black history, stating, “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”
City officials encourage residents to join in the celebration throughout February by learning about and honoring Black contributions to society. The series is part of Greenville’s broader effort to promote awareness and appreciation of Black history and culture.
The city has used hashtags such as #BlackHistoryMonth, #GreenvilleMS, #CelebrateAndLearn, and #OurHistory to promote the campaign on social media.
