Event Honors Female Veterans in Greenville

A special event to honor and support female veterans is scheduled for Saturday in Greenville, Mississippi. The event will take place at the Washington County Convention Center, located at 1040 S. Raceway Road, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to organizers.

The event is free for all female veterans and aims to provide resources, support, and a platform for fellowship. It also seeks to show appreciation for women who have served in the military, organizers said.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons issued a statement praising female veterans for their service. He said, “Today and every day, we honor all veterans whose courage and sacrifice have safeguarded our freedoms. We offer special gratitude to our female veterans—women who have answered the call to serve with valor, resilience, and distinction, often while breaking barriers and paving the way for generations to follow.”

Simmons added that female veterans strengthen the armed forces and reflect the nation’s patriotism and leadership. He thanked women veterans for their service and their example of strength, duty, and honor.
