Batesville to host summer family movie nights on the square

Batesville Main Street will host its Summer Sunset Family Movie Series on Batesville’s downtown square this summer. The series begins Saturday, May 16, with screenings scheduled for June 20 and July 18, all starting at 8 p.m. or sunset, whichever is later.

Movie titles are yet to be announced as organizers await licensing approval. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and bug spray for comfort. Food and drinks, including popcorn, candy, and beverages, will be provided by local non-profit groups, possibly for a small donation to support fundraising efforts. Kona Ice will also be on site selling shaved ice treats.

The events are free and open to the public. Organizers hope the series will create lasting family memories and foster community spirit on the square.
