Applications open for 2026 WMA waterfowl draw hunts in Mississippi

Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) has opened applications for the 2026 Waterfowl Management Area (WMA) draw hunts. The application period runs until Oct. 15, 2026.

Hunters can apply through the MDWFP license system on the department’s website or mobile app. Applicants must create an account if they do not already have one. A WMA permit is required to apply for the draw hunts, and hunters should add one to their cart if needed.

To apply, users should navigate to the Draw Opportunities tab within the license catalog. They can then select their preferred hunt dates and WMAs, ranking choices in order of preference. The application process is free.

After selecting their hunt options, applicants can review their choices in the shopping cart and complete the transaction. Confirmation of successful submission will be sent via email and an inbox notification.
