Yazoo County man taken into custody after months on the run

The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Anthony Russell, who had been on the run for several months.

According to the sheriff’s office, Russell was apprehended after receiving a tip indicating he was at a hotel in Yazoo City.

Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy praised community members for their assistance, noting that tips and cooperation helped lead to the arrest.

Russell faces numerous felony charges and was previously out on a felony bond, the sheriff’s office said. The department emphasized its commitment to holding individuals accountable and maintaining community safety.

Authorities encouraged residents to continue providing tips to law enforcement to aid ongoing investigations and arrests.
