Waterfowl hunts limited at several WMAs due to weather concerns
Waterfowl draw hunts at Charlie Capps, Howard Miller, Muscadine, Mahannah, Trim Cane, and Tuscumbia wildlife management areas will be limited to pre-drawn hunters and their parties on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 26, due to potentially dangerous weather and travel conditions, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
There will be no stand-by opportunities at these WMAs on those dates, officials said. Pre-drawn hunters are required to check in and out using the MDWFP HuntFish app or paper WMA user cards. All other regulations for individual areas remain in effect.
The department emphasized that weather conditions could change and urged hunters to stay informed about updates and safety advisories before heading to the WMAs.
