Washington County Leader Participates in Delta Leadership Institute Program
Mary Catherine, the director of the Washington County Chamber, returned from a week-long leadership program in Louisiana. She participated in the Delta Regional Authority’s Delta Leadership Institute in Monroe and West Monroe, during Session II of this year’s program, according to a statement from the chamber.
The program included discussions with regional leaders on collaborative leadership and community development. Participants heard from Monroe Mayor Staci Mitchell and West Monroe Mayor Friday Ellis about working together to strengthen their communities. Dr. Bev Vitali provided insights on leading with strength, while Rob Cleveland and Henry Thornton discussed economic growth and investment in the Delta region.
Attendees also participated in site visits to regional assets, including the Meta Data Center project, Poverty Point Reservoir, downtown Monroe, and the West Monroe Sports & Events Complex. These stops highlighted the impact of strategic investments and community visioning, according to the chamber.
Catherine emphasized the value of networking with other Delta leaders working to improve their communities. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring ideas, partnerships, and renewed momentum back to Washington County. The chamber noted she looks forward to sharing more updates on regional initiatives.
