Two men arrested in Greenville copper wire theft investigation
Two men were arrested in connection with a reported copper wire theft in Greenville, Mississippi, police said.
Investigators received information and photographs from a concerned citizen on Nov. 4 showing two people allegedly loading copper wire into a dark gray Toyota Camry in the 1500 block of South Colorado Street, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Officers later found a vehicle matching the description near Oaks Drive and stopped it after observing it had no registered license plate, police said. The driver was identified as Brant McCoy and the passenger as Joshua Colyer. A search of the vehicle found bolt cutters, wire cutters and a drill, police said.
McCoy and Colyer each face charges of grand larceny, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property, identified by police as copper wire. The department said both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
