Tunica County to host Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office will host a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the lobby of the sheriff’s office.

The event aims to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications safely. Officials say proper disposal can help prevent drug misuse and protect the community from potential abuse.

The event is part of a national effort organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration to reduce the availability of excess prescription drugs in households. Participants are encouraged to drop off medications without fear of penalty or identification requirements.

The sheriff’s office urges residents to take advantage of the event to help combat the opioid crisis and promote community safety.
