Tunica County Sheriff’s Office to host 11th annual charity golf tournament benefiting Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office will host its 11th annual charity golf tournament on Friday, October 16, at Tunica National Golf & Tennis. The event aims to raise funds for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

This year’s honoree is Miss Kenleigh D’Nari Hibbler, born on May 13, 2025, weighing just 1 pound, 11 ounces. She faced numerous health challenges after birth, including the need for a ventilator and treatment for birth defects. Her parents were advised to consider termination during pregnancy but chose to continue fighting for her life.

Kenleigh received care at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital for 10 months. Her family endured moments of uncertainty and fear, with medical teams working tirelessly. Today, she is thriving at home, still on a ventilator at minimal settings. She can say “hi” and gesture “yes” or “no,” demonstrating significant progress.

The tournament supports Le Bonheur’s ongoing mission to provide life-saving care for children like Kenleigh. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $100,000 for children and families receiving treatment at the hospital.

Community members are encouraged to participate by registering a team, sponsoring the event, donating, or sharing Kenleigh’s story. Proceeds help ensure children receive the critical medical care they need to have a chance at life and recovery.

“This event is about more than one child. It’s about the next child, the next fighter, and the families who need hope,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. “Every contribution helps give another child a chance to go home and become a miracle.”
