Tunica County Opens Warming Centers Amid Cold Snap

Tunica County officials will open two recreation centers as warming centers due to forecasted extremely cold temperatures. The centers aim to provide residents with a safe, warm place during the cold snap.

The White Oak Community Center, located at 1100 White Oak Road in Tunica, and the Dundee Community Center at 9140 Dundee Road in Dundee, will serve as warming centers. Officials advise residents to call 662-357-0523 for hours of operation and transportation assistance.

The initiative is supported by Tunica EMA, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office, the Town of Tunica, the Tunica Police Department, and Tunica Parks and Recreation, according to local authorities.
