Three arrested in Greenville pawn shop burglary investigation

Greenville police arrested three individuals following a burglary at a pawn shop on Highway 82 East, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1836 Highway 82 East location around 8:59 a.m. Sept. 21 after the business owner reported a break-in. The owner had detained one suspect, identified as Terrance Hogan, when officers arrived, according to police.

Investigators determined that entry was gained by cutting a large hole through the rear wall of the business. They identified Jacob Taylor and Malania Fields as additional suspects involved in the break-in.

Information from the investigation led officers to the Colonial Inn at 1812 Highway 82 East. With assistance from additional officers, Taylor and Fields were located and taken into custody without incident. Police also recovered merchandise believed to be stolen from the pawn shop.

All three suspects — Hogan, Taylor, and Fields — were transported to the Greenville Police Department for processing. Authorities have not released further details about their charges or court appearances. Police urge anyone with additional information to contact the Greenville Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, police said.
