Severe weather threat downgraded to slight for this evening

The National Weather Service has issued an updated outlook for severe weather this afternoon into tonight, increasing the threat level to slight.

The primary concern is large hail up to golf ball size. Damaging wind gusts are also a secondary threat.

Forecasters expect the activity to diminish in the early morning hours, ending by sunrise.
