Severe storms could bring damaging winds to parts of Mississippi

The National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi, said a line of isolated severe storms could move through the area later this afternoon, with damaging winds the primary threat. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.

Heavy rainfall from storms this afternoon into early Wednesday could lead to localized flash flooding, the weather service said.
