Police investigate stabbing at Oxford hospital, seek suspect

Police are investigating an aggravated assault that resulted in a stabbing at Baptist Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. The incident occurred on October 12, 2026, and prompted a response from Panola County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

According to authorities, a 30-year-old man identified as Cody Brian was found at the hospital with a stab wound to the face. Contact was made with Brian at the emergency room, and information was developed implicating 33-year-old Zachary Pitcock as a suspect.

Police have issued a warrant for Pitcock’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault. Crimestoppers of Panola County has authorized a $1,000 reward for information that directly leads to his arrest.
