PCSO extends condolences to family of former Panola County Sheriff Ida Margaret Bryan
The Panola County Sheriff’s Office has expressed its prayers and sympathies to the family of Ida Margaret Bryan, known as ‘Ms. Ida.’ Bryan was no stranger to law enforcement, having served as sheriff of Panola County since April 2005, after her husband, David Bryan, passed away in office.
She had been by her husband’s side since his election in 1976. Bryan personally cooked and fed prisoners during her time working in the jail.
In April 2005, she was appointed sheriff to fill the vacancy left by her husband’s death until a special election was held in November. Hugh
