Panola County Jail warns of scam phone calls from ‘Jail Nurse’

Panola County authorities issued a warning after a resident reported receiving a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be a jail nurse. The caller told the citizen to send money to free a family member from jail.

The Panola County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) emphasized that they will never contact individuals asking for money to secure someone’s release, pay fines, or resolve warrants. They urged residents to be cautious of scams, especially those requesting payment via gift cards.
