Mississippi’s September Teal Season Opens September 19
The Mississippi September teal season starts Saturday, September 19, and ends Sunday, September 27, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
Hunters are required to complete their Harvest Information Program (HIP) survey before hunting any migratory birds, including doves. Both lifetime and exempt license holders must complete the survey, which can be done by calling the license bureau at 601-432-2055 or online through the department’s license portal.
Hunters planning to hunt on Wildlife Management Areas are advised to purchase a WMA user permit and check in and out via the MDWFP HuntFish app. Information about WMAs suitable for teal hunting is available on the department’s website.
