Mississippi wildlife volunteers mark Public Lands Day at Leaf River WMA

Volunteers in Mississippi participated in a public lands stewardship event Saturday at Leaf River Wildlife Management Area, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks said.

The event coincided with National Public Lands Day and was organized in partnership with the National Deer Association and the U.S. Forest Service. Volunteers spent the morning planting trees and performing other conservation activities to support wildlife habitat and outdoor recreation.

MDWFP officials thanked the partners and volunteers for their efforts in helping maintain and improve public lands that benefit Mississippi’s wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts.
