Mississippi wildlife areas offer hunting, hiking opportunities

Mississippi has more than 50 wildlife management areas covering more than 700,000 acres, with opportunities for hunting, hiking and other outdoor activities, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks says.

Hunters using the areas should check in when they arrive and check out when they leave through the MDWFP HuntFish app. Information about the areas is available on the department’s website.
