Mississippi wildlife and forestry groups hold joint conference

The Mississippi Chapter of The Wildlife Society and the Society of American Foresters held a joint meeting September 9-11, bringing together two organizations focused on natural resources.

Attendees shared current research and discussed issues relevant to their fields during the event. A key activity was a field trip on Hall Timberland property, where participants learned about prescribed fire research, white-tailed deer population management, and active timberland management across Mississippi.

The event aimed to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals working to conserve and manage Mississippi’s natural resources, according to organizers.
