Mississippi Trappers Association hosts introduction to trapping event

The Copiah Baptist Association hosted the Mississippi Trappers Association over the weekend for an Introduction to Trapping event, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Department staff discussed the differences between nuisance animals and furbearer species, trapping on public and private land, and how hunting differs from trapping. They also reviewed licensing, regulations and tagging requirements.

Staff encouraged participants to connect with local conservation officers and build relationships with them as a resource in the field.
