Mississippi launches 2026 Youth Fishing Rodeo schedule

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has released the schedule for its 2026 Youth Fishing Rodeos. The events are open to anglers ages 15 and younger and are free to the public, department officials said.

The rodeos aim to provide young anglers with hands-on fishing experience and outdoor recreation. The first events are scheduled for March, with multiple sessions planned throughout the month.

The upcoming rodeos include a March 7 event at Roosevelt State Park at 10 a.m. and additional sessions on March 21 at Turcotte at 8 a.m., March 28 at Harrison County Sportsplex at 8 a.m., and March 28 at Dunn’s Falls at 8 a.m., the department said. More details and the full schedule are available on the agency’s website.

Officials encouraged interested families to participate in these free events to promote outdoor activities among youth in Mississippi.
