Mississippi Duck Season Ends, MDWFP Encourages Safe Hunting Practices

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) announced the end of the regular duck hunting season Monday. Officials expressed hope that hunters had a safe and successful season.

The agency reminded hunters to leave water sources for ducks and to contribute to wetland habitat preservation. These habitats are vital for migratory birds passing through Mississippi.

MDWFP also announced upcoming special days for youth, veterans, and active military hunters on Feb. 7 and 8. The department encourages participation in these events to promote safe and inclusive hunting experiences.
