Mississippi Delta Student Sophie O’Neal Awarded Full Tuition Scholarship at Mississippi State

Sophie O’Neal, a sophomore at Mississippi Delta Community College from Greenwood, has been awarded a Presidential Partnership Scholarship at Mississippi State University. The scholarship provides full tuition coverage for two years, according to the university.

O’Neal was also selected to the Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Academic Team, an honor recognizing her academic excellence, leadership, and community service, the college said.

She is set to graduate next week with an associate’s degree in biological sciences and plans to continue her studies at Mississippi State University. Her goal is to become a veterinarian, college officials said.

Her achievements highlight her dedication to academics and service, and she is expected to accomplish more in her future educational pursuits, the college added.
