Mississippi Delta Community College installs new soil sensors and weather stations

Mississippi Delta Community College has installed new soil moisture sensors and weather stations on its farm, part of a project supported by a grant from the Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board.

The equipment aims to improve understanding of field conditions, enhance irrigation practices, and provide students with experience using advanced agricultural technology, according to college officials.

The initiative is part of ongoing research into precision agriculture irrigation, with the new tools expected to benefit both farm management and educational programs at MDCC.
