Mayor Errick D. Simmons Urges Caution After Severe Storm in Greenville

Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons urged residents to exercise caution and remain safe after a severe thunderstorm struck the area last night. In a statement, Simmons thanked city crews, first responders, and emergency personnel for their quick response.

He said crews have already removed more than 30 fallen trees across the city, and work continues. Simmons asked residents to report downed limbs, power lines, hazardous conditions, or blocked streets to the appropriate city department.

Simmons emphasized community resilience and encouraged patience as crews work to clear debris and address storm-related issues. He urged residents to stay alert and to give crews grace as they continue recovery efforts.

The mayor concluded by reminding residents that storms test communities but also highlight their strength and resilience. City officials are committed to ongoing recovery efforts until the job is complete.
