Hot Weather Continues Across Mississippi with Isolated Showers, NWS Reports

Jackson, Mississippi — The National Weather Service in Jackson reports that it is another hot afternoon across the area. Isolated showers and thunderstorms have developed in parts of east and southeast Mississippi, according to the agency.

The weather service said these isolated showers and storms are expected to remain possible through around sunset. Despite the chance of rain, most of the region will stay hot and dry for the rest of the day, officials noted.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and be prepared for brief, isolated thunderstorms in some areas, especially in the east and southeast parts of the state. No significant weather warnings have been issued at this time.
