Horn Lake police officers complete crisis intervention training

Four officers from the Horn Lake Police Department have completed a 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) course hosted by the Southaven Police Department, according to a department news release.

Officer Hunter, Officer Alexander, Officer Sorrell, and Officer Wicks participated in the training, which focused on communication and de-escalation techniques for individuals experiencing mental health crises or behavioral emergencies.

The department expressed pride in the officers’ commitment to professional development and community service. The training aims to improve the department’s response to sensitive situations and ensure officers are equipped to serve residents effectively during times of need.
