Greenville residents and organizations unite for community cleanup

Residents and organizations in Greenville, Mississippi, participated in the Great Community Clean Up, according to a post from the city. Volunteers worked at neighborhood parks and community centers throughout Washington County.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons credited community partners for their efforts. “Progress happens when community partners roll up their sleeves and work together, as one,” he said. “Cleanup day is proof that when we unite in service, we strengthen the place we call home.”

Organizers expressed gratitude for the support of groups including the Mississippi Delta Nature & Learning Center, JSU National Alumni Association, Divine 9, Valhar Solutions Health, TC Energy, Keep Greenville Beautiful, AmeriCorps, Rotary Club of Greenville, Rising Roots Farm, T.R.O.P. Casino Greenville, local municipalities, and numerous volunteers. The event aimed to promote community pride and environmental stewardship.

Organizers emphasized that the cleanup showcased the community’s collective effort to keep Greenville clean, safe, and beautiful.
