Greenville police seize firearms, narcotics after traffic stop

Greenville police stopped a vehicle near Reed Road and Colorado Street Tuesday after receiving information about a gray Nissan with occupants carrying firearms. Officers located a 2025 Nissan Sentra matching the description and initiated a traffic stop, according to a police news release.

As officers approached the vehicle, a male passenger exited and fled on foot. Officers attempted to apprehend him but were unsuccessful. During the investigation, officers found multiple firearms and suspected narcotics inside the vehicle, including a stolen 9mm handgun reported stolen during a FedEx shipment. They also recovered marijuana and THC-related products.

A one-year-old child was discovered inside the vehicle during the incident. An officer immediately removed the child and moved him to a safe location away from the scene, police said.

Authorities arrested Travarius Blackmon Williams, charging him with possession of a stolen firearm and child endangerment, along with traffic citations. The department continues to investigate the incident and is seeking the individual who fled on foot.
